 Britney Spears will soon return to prime-time television CBS has confirmed. Weeks after she drew glowing reviews and strong ratings as a guest star on the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” Spears will return to the show on May 12 to reprise her role as a sassy office assistant named Abby. “We’re all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again,” series executive producer and co-creator Craig Thomas said in a statement. A network spokeswoman also said the episode would be shot sometime this week in Los Angeles. In her March 24 debut on the series, Spears‘ character fell for the show’s leading man, Ted, played by Josh Radnor, only to end up angry at Ted when he started dating her boss. Spears‘ first appearance on the show drew 10.6 million viewers, up sharply from the show’s season-to-date average audience of 8.1 million. The mostly positive reviews also gave Spears a rare burst of upbeat headlines amid a torrent of highly publicized personal problems in recent years. Her appearance on “How I Met Your Mother” sparked speculation that Spears might branch out further into acting, following a successful guest turn in March 2006 on the NBC comedy “Will & Grace.”

 Britney Spears was ordered by a court commissioner to pay ex-husband Kevin Federline $375,000 to cover his attorney fees in their child-custody dispute. Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled that Spears‘ actions led to a great majority of the litigation and delays in her custody case with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federlines lead attorney, had asked for nearly $500,000. Gordon issued the order in response to arguments presented last week. Spears‘ attorney Stacy Phillips argued that Kaplan was overbilling and that Federline can pay his own legal bills, but Gordon wrote that Spears‘ actions led to a great majority of the litigation and delays in the case. Spears has had very limited contact with her two toddler sons, who are under the sole physical and legal custody of Federline. Spears‘ father, James, was named one of two co-conservators of her estate after she was hospitalized twice in January. The conservatorship has been extended until July 31.

 If Britney Spears didn’t already have her hands full , she certainly does now. A raunchy sex tape starring the pop singer was leaked on the web. The 30 minute video shows the shaven headed pop star performing sex acts with 2 unidentified females and a male companion. During the video, the dazed Britney consumes alcohol and what appears to be cocaine and marijuana. The tape will undoubtedly cause more problems for her already troubled custody battle with ex-hubby Kevin Federline. Spears had to temporarily surrender custody of her sons to Federline because she defied a court order. After-hour calls to attorneys representing Spears and Federline were not immediately returned.
